The CPP project was a water management project located in the central part of Bangladesh, implemented between 1992 and 2000.

Fisheries in the floodplains were an integral part of the project and were monitored for eight years

The major aim of the fisheries component was to estimate the impact of the proposed interventions: "controlled flooding" on fisheries and the programme encompassed:

• Floodplain fisheries monitoring (Click)
• Larval fish drift and design of "fish friendly regulators
• The development fisheries modeling tools by using Geographical Information Systems. (Click)
• A length based fish stock assessment programme
• An aquaculture development programme (Click)

The results of the programme is published in the book

"Floods, Fish and Fishermen"
